This is the very first character study I ever did of Angel Devoid. Without going into too much detail, Angel Devoid, or, if you will, "Angel, devoid of soul" is the main attraction in a large project I've got in the works, (Actually the same one that Ed will be making his appearance in.) Character studies such as this one help me establish not only the look of a character but can also help me in deciding their motivation and general attitude. In fact, I find, more often then not, that though I may have an idea of the psychological profile of a character before I start, it often changes to suit the drawings I've created. Which causes me to question, which came first, the character or the study, the chicken or the egg? |
