This has got to be one of the most widely published, most popular images I've ever created. So far it's been used as a frontispiece in a book, chosen for publication in Spectrum 5, printed as a t-shirt, done as a tattoo, and I've had no less then five offers to purchase the original. I'm not sure exactly where the original is now as I finally ended up selling it to a fan who didn't speak a word of English and had to communicate through a translator. Last I heard it was hanging proudly in a small flat in Paris, France.
Now comes the kicker. This illustration, despite all it's attention, and adoration, was meant only as a study in composition and done in the spare moments of a 5 day ski trip to Utah. Go figure. |
