In my full time job, as an illustrator at a video game developer, I do a lot of conceptual character work. Unfortunately, due to the nature of my job, I never seem to have enough time to realize a drawing to my fullest satisfaction, that's why I'm so taken when stuff like this happens. Archbishop for me, is one of the greatest bits of character study I've ever done. I chose to include him in the "sketches" section not so much because he's a "sketch" but more because he was never intended as a finished piece of art. Unfortunately about a month or so after I'd done this piece the project for which it was intended got canned. So is the nature of the beast. I'm just glad I still got the opportunity to share him with the world. |
