"Horn of Plenty" is one of a myriad of images I did for Seattle based gaming moguls, Wizards of the Coast, and of all the illustrations I've produced for their products, over the years, this picture remains, even today, one of my favorites. I'm not quite sure what it is exactly that draws me to this piece, (No pun intended.) but whatever the reason I am sure it is in no small part due to the fact that during a moment of last minute inspiration, (Or late night insanity, take your pick.), I got the idea of putting a giant mouth at the end of the cornucopia. Though dead sure it would be rejected, I thought it just too funny not to include so I painted it up and sent it in. In the end I'm glad I took the chance as not only was it not rejected, the mouth gives the the illustration a quirky sense of character and, now that I think about it, is probably why I'm so endeared with it. I guess there's just those times you have to take that leap of faith and see where you land.
